KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
WOODLAWN COUNCIL 2161
Aliquippa, Pennsylvania
14 September 2026
Exaltation of the Holy Cross
Dear Latin Mass Guild Member:
As you are aware, Bishop Mark Eckman decided to discontinue the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Titus Church in Aliquippa, effective 4 September 2026, and so Woodlawn Council's role in supporting the Traditional Latin Mass in Beaver County has come to an end.
During the past 19 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to organize and support the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Titus. Beginning on Columbus Day 2007, with a Low Mass offered by Fr. Eugene Dougherty and attended by 101 people, Woodlawn Council has attempted to preserve and promote devotion to the Traditional Mass and sacraments in the Beaver Valley by sponsoring Traditional Latin Masses at St. Titus Church.
Over the past two decades, Woodlawn Council has hosted numerous Battle of Lepanto Masses & dinners, Blessed Karl of Austria Masses & conferences, and Blue Masses. We organized Pontifical Masses offered by Bishops Athanasius Schneider and Teodoro de Faria, bishop emeritus of Funchal in the Madeira Islands; hosted speakers such as Michael Matt, Dr. John Rao, John Vennari, Chris Ferrara, Dr. David Allen White, Suzanne Pearson, and Princess Maria-Anna Galitzine, granddaughter of Blessed Karl, among others.
In 2016, we organized the solemn consecration of the City of Aliquippa to the Sacred Heart of Jesus & the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the renewal of that consecration in 2021 & 2026.
Through the years Woodlawn Council sought to work for the Glory of God and the salvation of souls through the celebration of the immemorial rite of the Roman Mass. We give thanks to almighty God and the Blessed Virgin Mary for the many blessings received during this time.
We also thank you for your support. For all those who attended the Latin Masses at St. Titus, donated time and financial support, and especially for your prayers, we are grateful.
Although Woodlawn Council will no longer be supporting the celebration of the Latin Mass at St. Titus, we will continue to financially support traditional seminarians studying for the holy priesthood. To date, Woodlawn Council has provided $19,000 in scholarship grants to seminarians studying with traditional orders, such as the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest and the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. This program will continue, and your financial support is greatly appreciated.
Again, we thank you for your steadfast support through the years. You will continue to be remembered in our prayers, especially during the Holy Rosary that we pray before each Woodlawn Council meeting. Please continue to pray for us.
In Christ the King,
A. Todd Wilson, Esquire, Nicholas P. Wilson,
Grand Knight Deputy Grand Knight
Anthony J. Rubino, Anthony M. Campana,
Financial Secretary Treasurer
M. Eric Frankovitch, Esquire,
Advocate
