Report: Renewal of the Consecration of the City of Aliquippa, 30 May 2026


On Saturday, 30 May 2026, the consecration of the City of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary was solemnly renewed to mark the 10th anniversary of the original consecration of the City.  (Original report here.)  The renewal of the consecration was performed by the pastors of two of the Catholic churches in Aliquippa, and the mayor, and was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Woodlawn Council 2161.

The ceremonies began with a 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy at St. George Church for Pentecost Saturday, with the Eastern Rite clergy wearing their traditional green Pentecost vestments.

Deacon Thomas J. Klacik of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Ambridge, Pennsylvania, proclaims the Gospel.

Fr. Anthony Costantino imparts the final blessing.

After the Divine Liturgy, the faithful gathered in front of St. George Church for the renewal of the consecration of the City of Aliquippa.

Following the renewal of the consecration, the faithful processed through the streets of Aliquippa praying the Rosary and singing hymns under religious banners and the flag of the Knights of Columbus.

Following the procession, refreshments were served in the St. George church hall.
