Habemus Papam - Leo XIV

V. Let us pray for our Sovereign Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV.

R. May the Lord preserve him; and give him life;
and make him blessed upon the earth;
and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.
[Ps 40:3]

Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be.

O God, the Shepherd and Ruler of all the faithful, look with favor upon Thy servant, Leo XIV, whom Thou hast been pleased to appoint pastor over Thy Church: grant him, we beseech Thee, that by word and example, he may be of profit to those over whom he has been placed, and together with the flock committed to his care, attain unto life everlasting. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Report: The Roman Forum Comes to Aliquippa, April 2025

The Knights of Columbus Woodlawn Council 2161 hosted a weekend Lenten conference, 4-6 April 2025, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.  The featured speaker was Dr. John Rao, Director of The Roman Forum, and the topic of the conference was The Last Crusade: Proclaiming Christ the King, Lord of History.

The conference began with a Traditional Latin Mass at St. Titus Church offered by Canon William Avis of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, Pastor of Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Canon Avis offered the Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart for the First Friday.

After Mass, Dr. Rao presented the first conference in the St. Titus Church hall.

On Saturday, the second day of the conference began at nearby St. George Byzantine (Ruthenian) Catholic Church, also in Aliquippa, with the Akathist of the Theotokos, a profound devotional service that sings the praises of the Holy Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, followed by the Divine Liturgy, both served by Fr. Anthony Costantino, Administrator of St. George Church.

After the Divine Liturgy, Dr. Rao presented the second conference in the St. George Church hall.

The third day of the conference, Passion Sunday, began back at St. Titus Church with a High Mass offered by Fr. Adam Potter, a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

After Mass, the third and final conference was presented in the St. Titus Church hall.

Woodlawn Council wishes to thank Fr. Canice McMullen, OSB, Pastor of St. Titus Church, Mary, Queen of Saints Parish, and Fr. Anthony Costantino, Administrator of St. George Church, for making this weekend conference possible.

Woodlawn Council also thanks our program sponsors:

Finally, Woodlawn Council thanks Dr. John Rao for traveling to Aliquippa to edify us with his vast knowledge of Church history.
